Here are my notes for the race directors:

#1 Great parking for the carpoolers!

#2 Overall, a very organized race!

#3 Loved the medals! THANK YOU!

#4 Can we push back the start time?

#5 Can you have it on a Saturday? Because…obviously…God is trying to tell you something…actually he just called me and told me to tell you to have it on a Saturday because you blocked 37 of his churches on your marathon route. You really can’t do that to God…he will bring upon you fire and rain! Oh wait…he did that already….but you didn’t listen!

Officer saves man from house fire during marathon

PASADENA, Calif.—Authorities say a police officer on duty at the Pasadena Marathon rescued a man from a burning house.

Officer Kerry Schilf, a 17-year veteran with the Burbank Police Department, was handling traffic control during the race Sunday when he heard about a house fire over the police scanner.

Schilf ran to the home a block from the race course, kicked down the door and pulled the homeowner to safety, according to Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

The 66-year-old homeowner suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene. Three cats died in the blaze and one was revived by paramedics.

The cause of the fire, which was put out in 15 minutes, remains under investigation.
